Lie Harder

Your mom catches you lying to her, and later she sees you upset about it. She asks: "What's wrong?"

Right answer: "I'm upset that I lied to you."
Wrong answer: "I'm upset that you caught me lying."

  1. That guy with the hair and the pants and the face says:

Depends actually. Are you really sorry you lied to her, or are you really sorry she caught you. If its the latter just say that you are just being honest. It will slightly confuse them and they wont know whether to be proud that you were honest with them, or angry that you lied to them.

    • Kuroro says:

Easy way to determine the first answer : have you lied before and weren’t caught? If so, did you feel bad? No? well then, I guess what you said was what you really meant!

  2. Vince says:

The lesson to be learned here is: don’t get caught.

  3. Lizzy says:

Look on the bright side, you didn’t lie the second time.

  4. Xebi says:

Whichever is the honest truth is the correct answer. If you’re upset because she caught you, then just say so.

  5. Pastshelfdate says:

Agreed, that you took a step in the most liveable, sustainable, sociable (That’s why it’s “right.”) direction by telling the truth, the second time.

Now you can work on why lying gives even you trouble. Lincoln said “No man [or woman] has sufficient memory to be a successful liar.”
